The first Pay-Per-View of the near year will be WWE Royal Rumble to officially kick off the road to WrestleMania 39 in 2023. The event worldly famous for its surprising entrants and I hope they develop this year as well. ## The 2023 Royal Rumble event has already been rumored to include major surprises such as; Cody Rhodes, The Rock, and plush, the event will see the debut of the first-ever Pitch Black match. ## Let's have a looks at some of the rumored and predicted matches for the event. ## Pitch Black Match: TBA Vs. TBA ## WWE is all set to do the first-ever Pitch Black Match at the 2023 Royal Rumble on January 28th in San Antonio. It was about a month when WrestlingNewsCo first reported the company’s plan to do a Pitch Black Match. ## In an update, WrestlingNewsCo noted that WWE was advertising the Pitch Black Match during a commercial that was used to hype the Royal Rumble event itself. ## Now, it's officially been confirmed by WWE via a video posted on Twitter that the "Pitch Black Match" will be taking place at the 2023 Royal Rumble event. ## Hell In a Cell Match: Edge Vs. Finn Balor ## As WrestlingNewsCo also reported earlier in December and we covered as well, WWE is also planning on doing a Hell in a Cell match at the Royal Rumble with Edge facing Finn Balor. ## Edge has been out of in-ring action for quite some time now. He last wrestled at Extreme Rules on Cotober 8, where he was defeated by Balor in an "I Quit" Match after interference from The Judgement Day. ## After he said "I Quit", Ripley attacked his wife, Beth Phoenix (who also interfered during the match on his behalf), with a violent con-chair-to, severely injuring her (kayfabe) and suffering his first loss in 2022. ## Bray Wyatt vs. LA Knight In A Pitch Black Match ## With Bray Wyatt's storyline being in obscurity, I would like to pick Wyatt Vs. Knight for the Pitch Black Match. Plans for the 2023 WrestleMania event are pouring in. ## Per WrestlingNews.co the current plan for night two of WrestleMania's main event is to have The Roman Reigns Vs. The Rock or Cody Rhodes for the Universal Championship. ## WrestleMania 39 night one is currently planned to be main evented by Seth Rollins versus either Cody Rhodes or Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship. ## If this goes true, then the plan for Roman Reigns is to lose his WWE Championship whether at Royal Rumble or Elimination Chamber. It should be noted that The Rock is still not a done deal for WrestleMania, so if there is no Rock, then Cody Rhodes will always be the second choice to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. ## No matter what the consequences are, Triple H will always severe the best of the best on the table. Bray Wyatt is back to in-ring action at WWE's live event in MSG as he wrestled Jinder Mahal. ## Jinder Mahal cut a promo saying he was upset he was disrespected he wasn't in the ladder match later for the Intercontinental title. He challenged anyone to face him. Out came Bray Wyatt to a huge pop. Crowd chanted "This is awesome" chant at the bell. ## Mahal had both knees taped up. They battled on floor and Bray was cut off returning to ring. The 2023 Royal Rumble 2023 is set to take place on Saturday, January 28, 2023, live from Alamodome in San Antonio and the build for its matches has already begun. ## Wrestling News.co, previously reported that The 2023 Royal Rumble is set to feature the Undisputed Universal Title match between Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens.
