Superstar Mohanlal's 'Barroz' Release Date Locked

Kochi, May 6 - Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's long-awaited fantasy film Barroz has announced Onam 2024 release. Directed and headlined by Mohanlal, the movie is based on the novel Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure by Jijo Punnoose. ## On Monday (May 6), Mohanlal took to social media to announce that Barroz will be hitting worldwide theatres on September 12, 2024, on the occasion of the Onam festival. It will be the actor's next release since Malaikottai Vaaliban in January this year. ## Produced by Aashirvad Cinemas, Barroz has been in the making since 2021. The movie was initially planned for a March 2023 release before it was postponed to Onam 2023. However, due to the delay in the post-production work, it was again postponed to March 2024, and now, the makers have announced a September 2024 release. ## In the movie, Barroz, a treasure guardian (played by Mohanlal) has been protecting Vasco da Gama's hidden treasure for 400 years and has been entrusted to hand over the wealth only to a true descendant of da Gama. The film marks the reunion of the trio after Housefull 3 (2016), directed by Sajid-Farhad. ## Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the fifth instalment of the blockbuster comedy franchise from producer Sajid Nadiadwala is one of the most anticipated films in the making. Mumbai, May 4 - Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor have reunited for Dharma Productions' romantic-comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. The movie is directed by Shashank Khaitan and it also stars Sanya Malhotra, Akshay Oberoi and Rohit Saraf in pivotal roles. ## On Saturday (May 4), the shooting for SSKTK commenced with both Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor joining the schedule. The film is touted to be a fun-filled romantic comedy, along the lines of the Dulhania film series. It is said to be a vibrant celebration of love infused with music, larger-than-life sets, and a stellar cast. ## The first schedule of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari kicked off in Mumbai, the makers will head to Rajasthan and some other locations for the next schedules. Titled Toxic, the movie is being directed by National-award winning filmmaker Geetu Mohandas and produced by Yash under his banner Monster Mind Creations in association with KVN Productions. ## Toxic is a pan-India movie and the makers are in the process of locking a blockbuster casting from across industries. Kiara Advani has been roped in to play the female lead opposite Yash. Meanwhile, Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor was supposed to play the role of Yash's sister in the movie but there seem to be some changes. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, Kareena Kapoor has opted out from Toxic due to the date issues and the makers are now in advanced talks with lady superstar Nayanthara to play the role. The series has been set to stream on Disney+Hotstar. ## Created by Rajamouli and Sharad Devarajan, produced by Rajamouli, Devarajan and Shobu Yarlagadda and directed and produced by Jeevan J. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and Jyothi Krisna, the movie also stars Bobby Deol and Nidhhi Agerwal. ## Depicting the life of legendary outlaw Veera Mallu, the film is set in the Mughal Era where outlaw Veera Mallu is tasked with the job of stealing the Koh-i-Noor diamond from the Mughals. The makers unveiled the first teaser which promises an action-packed experience. ## The teaser introduces the character of Bobby Deol who plays the role of Mughal emperor. Pawan Kalyan shows his sword-fighting skills in this 1 minute and 37 seconds of the promo. Oscar-winner MM Keeravaani's music elevates the scenes to a whole new level.
