Meghalaya is a Twenty-two largest state by area and Twenty- three largest state by population in Indian country.## The Chief Minister of Meghalaya is the chief executive of the Indian state of Meghalaya which is appointed by a state’s governor. The chief minister is the leader of the state Legislative assembly. They would be the chief adviser to the nominal head of their respected state. All new principal announcements of policy are made by him on the floor of the house. The Chief Minister supervises and co­ordinates the policies of the several Ministers involved in the formulation and implementation of a policy and department. For the removal of ministers, the governor is dependent on the chief minister because the governor can’t remove/dismiss ministers at his will. The Chief Minister has a free hand in preparing the list of his colleagues and also he may ask anyone of his colleagues to resign.## Meghalaya has one legislature house and chamber, the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly has 60 seats, headed by a speaker. Meghalaya state sends 2 members to the Lok Sabha and 1 member to the Rajya Sabha.
