Box Office: Sooryavanshi Go Past 150 Crores India Net After Strong Second Weekend

Mumbai, November 15 - Sooryavanshi continued its box office juggernaut and scored a brilliant ₹ 30.68 crores (estimate) in the second weekend. The strong second weekend helped this Akshay Kumar-fronted to go past ₹ 150 crores net in India, the 6th highest domestic figure for him.
"Sooryavanshi" dropped 50% from the first Sunday for its second Sunday collection of ₹ 13.39 crores and down by 60% on the second weekend as compared to ₹ 77.08 crores in the opening Diwali weekend. The current domestic net collection for Rohit Shetty-directed stands at ₹ 151.23 crores after 10 days.
Overseas, "Sooryavanshi" has grossed approx ₹ 50 crores so far, which is the best overseas box office number for a Bollywood movie since December 2019 when Akshay's own film, "Good Newwz" grossed ₹ 74 crores. The total worldwide box office collection of "Sooryavanshi" stands at ₹ 228 crores, which is again, 6th highest gross worldwide total for the Bell Bottom actor.
Katrina Kaif, who plays the female lead in "Sooryavanshi" also scored her 6th highest domestic earner. For director Rohit Shetty, "Sooryavanshi" becomes the 4th highest domestic net collection film, after "Simmba" (₹ 340 cr.), "Chennai Express" (₹ 227 cr.), and "Golmaal Again" (₹ 205.69 cr.).
On the other hand, the Tamil movie "Annaatthe", featuring superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role, has crossed ₹ 100 crores net the domestic box office. The action drama film has had a fantastic start, scoring over ₹ 82 crores in the opening 4-day weekend (Thu-Sun), however, due to heavy rainfall and flood-like situation in Tamil Nadu, the collection got affected. Over the second weekend, it earned ₹ 5.90 crores, which helps Siva-directed to cross the ₹ 100 crore mark.
Overseas, "Annaatthe" has earned approx ₹ 45 crores so far, taking its total worldwide gross to ₹ 163 crores. It has released over 1100 screens overseas in 66 countries, which is the widest ever release for a Tamil movie. It also stars Keerthy Suresh and Nayanthara as the leading ladies along with Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, among others in key roles.
