Vikas Sethi: I want to get back to acting soon

Mumbai, April 23 (IANS) Actor Vikas Sethi has been away from showbiz for a while now. He says he wants to get back to work soon.## It's been about two years since the audience last saw him on screen.## "I want to get back to acting really soon. Gone are the days when you were considered too old to play a lead. There is room for actors to play a part of any age. Personally, I would like to get meaty roles and have no qualms about asking for work," said the "Sasural Simar Ka" actor.## He is also establishing his own production house.## "It is at the concept level. Given a choice between a positive or a negative role, I would love to take up a role with shades of grey. It has become more streamlined in its approach and more professional. Aditya Rawal: I didn't get my debut film on a platter

Mumbai, April 22 (IANS) Young actor Aditya Rawal, son of the veteran Paresh Rawal, says although "Bamfaad" was a perfect debut film for him to prove his acting skill as a debutant, it wasn't easy for him to bag the project and that he had his share of struggle too.## "I am fortunate to have everything that I have dreamt of, but (I have it) after three years of struggle. Not that I have got everything on a platter, and perhaps that is why I value everything. I studied at NYU, auditioned, did theatre, and wrote stories. I have done everything that a struggler does in his initial days. So when finally my debut happened with β€˜Bamfaad' I take it for what it is -- an opportunity to explore. I did not take it as pressure that comes along with a film, but as the chance to prove my skill as an actor," claimed Aditya, while speaking to IANS.## "Bamfaad" also features Vijay Varma, Jatin Sarna among others, and is streaming on ZEE5.## His co-actor Vijay mentioned: "Aditya is surely a talent to watch out. Being a Juhu brat, the way he played the character, Nasir Jamal, in the film, it looked convincing. He did not have the air of being the son of a veteran actor like Paresh Ji. We chatted for long films, and obviously the world cinema is our common interest area."## Aditya has studied creative writing abroad, so does it make him a better judge of a script? "Most definitely yes. I think studying scriptwriting and doing theatres in London and NYC has given me a better understanding of the craft. It will help me in the future to choose the right script. I understand the intention of a writer in the process of creating a character better," he replied.## Stay tuned...

Himesh Reshammiya focusses on new songs, scripts during lockdown

New Delhi, April 22 (IANS) Singer-composer-actor Himesh Reshammiya is a busy bee even during the COVID-19 lockdown.## A lot of things have come to a standstill as people have been told to stay indoors for safety. Work might have slowed down for many, but Himesh is as busy as ever.## "I am keeping myself busy with a lot of things during this quarantine period. I spend my days working out, composing new songs and reading new scripts. I am also planning a lot of things in film music and everything in the world of entertainment that is there for me. Like I always say, for me, the journey has just begun," Himesh told IANS.## What about working on a song on quarantine?## "No, I haven't made any song on quarantine yet but I have composed some great romantic and dance numbers, which I am sure my fans will enjoy immensely," said the "Aashiq banaya aapne" hitmaker, who has requested his fans to practice social distancing by staying at home.## "It is important for all of us to stay safe right now. As they say, this too shall pass," he said on a positive note.## Prior to the lockdown, he was busy judging new talent.## "I have judged many shows on television, but this ('BIG Golden Voice') was the first time that I judged on the radio. I don't think there is much of a difference between the two, except the fact that on radio, the quality of one's voice alone plays a crucial role. When you are judging on radio, especially during the first phase, voice is the only priority whereas on television, the attitude and personality of the singer also unknowingly become aspects on which the singer is selected," he said.## Talking about the radio show, he shared: "My favorite moment during judging 'BIG Golden Voice Season 7' was when we announced not one, but two winners. Shalini and Ankit both gave us performances to remember throughout their journey."## The former judge of "Indian Idol" often picks budding singers from reality shows for his film projects.## "All the singing shows are projecting great talent but some voices are so good that they inspire you. I truly believe that our country has some really amazing singing talent and their voices need to be heard by the entire nation. When I hear a great voice, I feel like launching it as soon as possible. This is something I have been doing time and again and will continue to do so in the future," said the composer, who had given a platform to many new singers like Darshan Raval and Mohammed Irfan.## Himesh has been in the industry for long, but he hasn't stopped learning even from the newcomers.## "Each and every one has taught me something valuable, but the most important thing I have learned is how to be the best student and keep learning at every stage of my life. Never stop learning and get inspired -- these are the biggest learnings from them (budding artistes)," said Himesh.## Stay tuned...

Vijay Verma on the stars who inspired him to be an actor

Mumbai, April 21 (IANS) "Gully Boy"-fame Vijay Verma says there are two Indian actors -- Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff -- influenced him to become the actor that he is today.## Asked to recall a profound moment that made him think of taking acting seriously, Vijay told IANS: "For me, it was Sanjay Dutt in 'Vaastav'. That was one of those films, and his character was one of such that made me say, 'actor banna hai'. That performance impacted me so much! His character Raghu in the film was a man with a story of zero-to-hero. A man who became a gangster who roams around with pachaas-tola around his neck! Oh man! That was a performance! I think 'Vastaav' was the 'Agneepath' of my growing-up days!"## Did he share the story with Dutt when they met? "No, I haven't because I met him socially, a couple of times. I met him at Mr Bachchan's place but at those moments I was comfortable just being around him and getting a big hug! For sharing my story, we need to sit down and chat. That is yet to happen," replied the actor, who recently appeared in the ZEE5 original film "Bamfaad".## This year, Vijay has had three more releases -- "Ghost Stories", "She" along with "Baaghi 3".## Vijay said that he is also a huge fan of "Baaghi 3" star Tiger Shroff's father, veteran actor Jackie Shroff.## "I am a fanboy of Jaggu dada. He epitomised that galli culture of Mumbai. In my growing days I admired him so much that when 'Gully Boy' was offered to me, I felt like Moeen (his character in the film) is a tribute to Jaggu dada! I love him," Vijay smiled.## Stay tuned...

SRK never has a 'Chak De! India' style, '70-minute' pep talk for KKR

Mumbai, April 21 (IANS) Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan says he has never given "Chak De! India" type of lessons to his Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team.## KKR co-owner SRK was referring to his role in the film of Kabir Khan, coach of an underdog Indian women's hockey team that goes on to win the World Cup under his guidance.## Kabir Khan's "70-minute" pep talk to his team in the film before the final match has gone onto become a contemporary pop classic moment in Bollywood.## However, as an owner of his IPL team, Shah Rukh essays a very different role.## "I was just hanging there, waving my arms from my balcony. So, when we won it, it was a vindication of belief because a lot of people started telling me to sell the team which I never would. And I don't say that out of evil, I said it out of belief and confidence," Shah Rukh said while recalling the moments when his team won the IPL.## "Actually, the first match we won, I was going to jump from my balcony, but I think my kids, I think it was my daughter who caught me. I could have flown that night, but I settled at home. I have been a sportsman all my life at a very small level, so I have never really given them some β€˜Chak De! India's kind of lectures I have never done that," he added.## Shah Rukh opened up on Star Sports show "Cricket Connected". Gautam Gambhir, former captain of KKR, was also part of the episode.## Looking back at his memories about the team, Gambhir said: "He told me when I was at the auction that this is your make or break moment and he will not interfere. I just promised him one thing. I don't know when it's going to be, but by the time I leave, whether it's going to be after 3 years or 6, but by the time I leave this franchise, this franchise will be in a much better position. That's the promise I made to him."## Stay tuned...
