Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan To Get Huge Profit Share In 'Tiger vs Pathaan'?

Mumbai, April 10 - The Yash Raj Films' Spy Universe is one of the most talked about topics in the media currently. It won't be exaggerated to say that it is the biggest movie brand in India at the moment with the kind of star power it features. ## There is no doubt that the upcoming films in the Spy Universe are carrying huge expectations after Shah Rukh Khan-fronted "Pathaan" turned out to be an insane blockbuster, grossing over 1000 crores worldwide. Mumbai, April 8 - Maddock Films in association with Jio Studios has officially announced their next production, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. The yet-untitled movie has been co-written and directed by Amit Joshi & Aradhana Sah. ## Billed as an impossible love story, Maddock Films announced that the shooting has been completed, and the movie will be released in October this year. The makers also unveiled the first-look poster of the movie featuring Shahid and Kriti. ## The first-look poster shows the lead couple sitting on a bike with the sea in the backdrop and holding each other in the position of a kiss. Reportedly, Shahid plays a robotics guy while Kriti Sanon will be seen playing a robot. Mumbai, April 7 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has emerged as the winner of the 2023 TIME100 poll, in which readers voted for the individuals they felt most deserved a spot on TIME's annual list of the most influential people. ## Shah Rukh Khan earned 4% of the vote after more than 1.2 million votes were cast. The superstar was competing with some of the most influential people in the world such as actor Michelle Yeoh, athlete Serena Williams, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and Argentian footballer Lionel Messi. ## Having done more than 100 films, Shah Rukh Khan is top of the game at the moment after the historic blockbuster success of Yash Raj Films' "Pathaan" which was released in January this year and grossed over 1050 crores worldwide. Mumbai, April 5 - IMAX recorded record-breaking results at the box office in the first quarter of 2023 as the company announced on April 4 that its first quarter box office earning was $282.2 million, beating its previous best set in 2016 by more than $10 million. ## The record-breaking results were powered by a potent global mix of releases; the first quarter now stands as IMAX's highest-grossing quarter ever for local language releases and also saw the stunning performance of James Cameron's "Avatar: The Way of Water".## As far as Indian films are concerned, IMAX announced that Shah Rukh Khan-fronted mega-blockbuster "Pathaan" delivered IMAX's biggest global opening weekend of all time for an Indian film. The company didn't reveal the box office collection for a particular local movie but revealed that local language films recorded $86.3 million and "Pathaan" was one of the biggest contributors to that. ## "The first quarter is an excellent indicator of the promise we see in 2023 — a year in which we expect to return to our record-breaking levels of box office from 2019", said Rich Gelfond, CEO of IMAX. "Our best-ever box office for the quarter demonstrates that IMAX is wholly unique in its ability to capitalize on both Hollywood and local language box office, and our diversifying content portfolio remains a key, successful pillar of our global growth strategy".## Released in December 2022, James Cameron's "Avatar: The Way of Water" was the highest-grossing IMAX release of the quarter and has now generated $255 million in IMAX — the Company's highest-grossing first-run release of all time. ## As for the local language release, China Film Group's "The Wandering Earth 2", now stands as IMAX's highest-grossing film of all time. Akshay Kumar To Reunite With Director AR Murugadoss For A Special Film

Mumbai, April 5 - Tamil director AR Murugadoss has been missing from the action since Rajinikanth's "Darbar" (2020) which underperformed at the box office. He is, however, currently busy with the promotion of his production venture, August 16, 1947, which is set to be released on April 7. ## Apart from August 16, 1947, the filmmaker has not decided on his next directorial but during a recent interview with Galatta Plus, he revealed what he has been up to in the past two years during the covid-19 pandemic. ## The "Kaththi" director revealed that he is working on a film with animals and a bunch of kids as the lead characters. He had written the script for the fantasy film even before his debut venture Dheena (2001) but due to restrictions on shooting with animals, the movie was put on hold before he finally debuted with Dheena and there was no looking back since. ## The director calls it his dream project which is finally decided to revive during the covid-19 pandemic. The film will have a powerful extended 20-minute cameo and Murugadoss revealed that he narrated the same to Akshay Kumar who liked the idea and agreed to do it. ## Murugadoss decided to make the film with CGI and visual effects and for the same, he connected with an Oscar-winning company called Double Negative, which has worked in Avengers. The director narrated the story to them and they were super happy. They also started the pre-production over Zoom calls, however, a series of flops in Bollywood again put the movie on hold. ## There is no timeline fixed yet for the movie but Murugadoss said that he will definitely do it one day since it is his dream project. Box Office: Bholaa First Tuesday Early Estimates

Mumbai, April 4 - Bholaa heading for a decent first Tuesday as the early estimate collections suggest a 4.50-5 crores net which is similar to the first Monday collections. Today was a partial holiday so the collections could be coming on the higher side as compared to yesterday. ## The first Tuesday collection will take the total collections of the film to over 53 crores net mark. The first seven days of business of the film is heading towards the 57 cr net mark while the extended first-week business of eight days should be around the 61-63 crores net. ## The first week of business is on the average side for Bholaa where he did see some good days while some days were also below average.## The film is still in a race to emerge as a successful film though it needs to hold well on the weekdays. Mumbai, April 4 - Yash Raj Films is building its Spy Universe featuring some of the biggest stars of Bollywood. It all started with Salman Khan-fronted Ek Tha Tiger (2012) before he reprised his role in the sequel Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). Both movies were huge blockbusters which fueled YRF to take the franchise to another level. ## In 2019, the studio released the third film in the Spy Universe, War-fronted by Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. It continued the blockbuster run before Shah Rukh Khan-fronted Pathaan (2023) took the Spy Universe to next level and turned out to be the biggest blockbuster. ## Pathaan was the first film in this blockbuster series in which characters from previous films were introduced. While there was a reference to Hrithik's Kabir in the film, Salman Khan played a vital cameo as Tiger. Box Office: Bholaa First Sunday Early Estimates

Mumbai, April 2 - Bholaa witnessed its biggest day at the box office thanks to the holiday on Sunday as the early estimate collections suggest a 13.50-14.50 crores net box office mark. The collection is good for the type of film Bholaa which is devoid of commercial elements like Music, comedy, and fun moments. The film is an action film but in a very dark zone which the family audience does not prefer. The collections are also coming during the time of Ramzan which affects the business. ## The growth of the film came majorly in the single screens while multiplexes remained flat which was expected as metro cities do not see growth on Sunday, especially for a desi mass action film. The film has comfortably beaten yesterday's collections though it could have added one crore more to its collections. ## The first Sunday collections will take the total collections of the film to around 44.25cr which is a good number but considering the first day was a partial holiday and then a national holiday on Sunday the film should have crossed the 50 crores net mark. Mumbai, April 1 - Bholaa which had a decent first two days fired well today at the box office with strong growth across all the circuits. The growth also looks big due to the second day being lower than expected but still, it's a good achievement for the film to show big growth like this on Saturday despite the film not being multiplex-friendly. ## The early estimate collections suggest 12 crores net on its first Saturday. The final collections could vary a little. This is the biggest day at the box office for Bholaa as it's comfortably beaten its opening day and it will be a huge plus if the numbers of tomorrow beat today's numbers. Mumbai, April 1 - Ajay Devgn-fronted sports biopic Maidaan is gearing up for its worldwide release on June 23rd in multiple languages. Directed by Amit Sharma, the film is based on the golden era of Indian football (1952–1962). It stars Ajay Devgn as football coach Syed Abdul Rahim along with Priyamani, Rudranil Ghosh, and Gajraj Rao with music composed by legendary AR Rahman.## Meanwhile, the teaser of "Maidaan" was first released on March 30 with Devgn's "Bholaa" in theaters before it was launched online later in the day. Mumbai, April 1 - Director Ayan Mukerji's ambitious project Brahmastra had its theatrical debut last year with the first part Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt among others in the key roles. ## After the successful outing of the first of the Brahmastra trilogy, the filmmaker is now working on the next two chapters in the fantasy adventure franchise. During a recent interview with News18, Ayan Mukerji revealed that Brahmastra 2 & 3 would be shot simultaneously for which the writing is underway. ## The first Brahmastra movie, although it received praise for visuals and VFX, did receive a little criticism for poor dialogue writing. Mukerji said that he will write the scripts of the next two films without compromising and this will take some time.## "We will make Brahmastra 2 and 3 together. But first, we will write it properly without compromising it. Box Office: Bholaa First Friday Early Estimates

Mumbai, March 31 - Bholaa which had a decent opening day of 11.20 crores net has shown a drop of around 35% on its second day. The drop was expected as the first day was helped by the partial holiday of Ram Navami and films do drop after partial holidays or national holidays especially when the next day is a working day but here the drop is more than expected especially considering the first day was not a big day at the box office. ## The early estimate collections suggest 7+ crores net on the first Friday. This will take the first two days of collections to around the 18.20cr net box office mark. Tomorrow is Saturday and the film should show a growth of around 20-25% or even more to come at the first-day levels. The combined business of Saturday and Sunday should be around the 30cr net mark for any chance of survival at the box office. ## Single screens continue to draw a big audience, especially in the mass circuits of UP and Bihar, also this is where Ajay Devgn has the biggest popularity.
