'Pushpa' music director Devi Sri Prasad to make acting debut shortly

BY SACNILK

Chennai, Dec 26 (IANS) Music composer Devi Sri Prasad, who scored the music for dirctor Sukumar's superhit film 'Pushpa - The Rise', has disclosed that he is to make his debut as an actor very soon. ## Talking to the media, the ace music director, who is popular in both the Tamil and Telugu film industries, said, "My target was only to be a musician which is why I refused a few acting offers initially. But the pandemic has changed my perception. It got me thinking and I wanted to try everything that I am good at. So very soon I will make my debut as an actor. Work for that has already begun." ## The music director was visibly pleased with the success of 'Pushpa's songs in all the five languages that the movie released in. ## He said, "I am really happy and excited. The effort that went into all the songs has really paid off. It almost took me one month to complete each and every song in the film. I meticulously selected the singers to suit a particular language. ## "In fact, Andrea Jeremiah who sung the 'Oo Solriya' song in Tamil was busy shooting. She took permission from the shoot and sung the song. I am thankful to all the singers and lyricists who cooperated well. ## "Sid Sriram was excited to sing 'Srivalli' as he felt this was something new to him. All five songs look more authentic in their respective languages. We were clear that this is not a dubbing film, but a pan-Indian flick and we wanted the quality to be on par with it." ## To another question on how he handled success, Devi Sri Prasad said, "Whether it is success or failure, I always take it to my heart and not to the mind. We put in the same effort for all songs and some of them become hits and others do not. We will have to be prepared for both. What is important is the hard work and consistency." ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk For More Such Updates.

Kamal Haasan's song of hope during COVID-19 lockdown

BY SACNILK

Chennai, April 22 (IANS) Actor-politician Kamal Haasan has penned, sung and directed "Avirum Anbum" -- a song on hope, positivity, and love in these testing times.## Joining him in the effort are his daughter, actress Shruti Haasan, composers Anirudh Ravichander, Yuvan Shankar Raja and Devi Sri Prasad, singers Shankar Mahadevan, Bombay Jayashree and Sid Sriram, actors Siddharth and Andrea, pianist Lydian, and singer-actor Mugen.## The song is composed by Ghibran and edited by Mahesh Narayanan, and will be released on April 23. Commenting on the collaboration with various talents for "Arivum Anbum", Kamal said: "This was truly a democratic process and each participant recorded his/her part themselves as none of us could meet. It's a collaboration in the truest sense and since everyone shot and recorded it themselves from their homes, I don't know whom to credit cinematography too."## "We have entered an era of high-end technology and every one individually sent us their portions which we put together. I have written the song and Ghibran has composed it and all the participants were on board just over a call. This collaboration has made me so proud of my tribe, not just locally but internationally. Artistes are continuously trying to inject optimism in the masses since they look up to us. The song is a reminder of all that we are capable of and also the fact that tough times don't last, only tough people do," he added.## Composer of the song Ghibran feels that a united effort like this can help people to overcome this situation.## "We have created a song from our homes even at this time of crisis of the coronavirus pandemic. We all are in this together and we will win over it, but only with a united effort, and that is the key to win over any pandemic that surrounds us. I am extremely happy and grateful to have associated with each and every person who has worked on this song and who came forward without a second thought, also to all the chorus singers who sent me their works and came forward to collaborate with me. The difference we can create by being together is all that matters and we have created something together," said the composer.## The song will be released by Think Music. "These are surreal times and the new way of life is truly testing for everyone. At a time like this, when emotions are running high, it's important that all of us remember to treat people with love and compassion. This song by the ever-talented Kamal Hassan and the talented artistes captures that beauty and is sure to resonate with anyone who hears it," said Swaroop Reddy, president of Think Music.## Stay tuned...

Arya's latest is first Tamil film to use Indian animation

BY SACNILK

Chennai, March 11 (IANS) Tamil star Arya's new film 'Teddy', directed by Shakti Soundarajan, is in the news for a special reason. 'Teddy' becomes the first Tamil film to use an Indian company to design a special animated character.## It also becomes the second Tamil film to use motion-capture technology, to bring to life a teddy bear.## In an interview, Director Soundarajan said: "Unlike the Rajinikanth's 'Kochadaiiyaan', ours isn't an animated movie. The technology has been used only for one particular character. We roped in an artist to bring a special character, which will appear for 80 minutes, live on screen."## His previous film "Tik Tik Tik", a space-based theme, was also heavy on animation.## Motion capture or mo-cap refers to the process of recording movements of objects or people. The specialists place sensors all over an actor. The sensor then tracks their movements, allowing them to be mapped on a computer screen in real-time. Animators then create a virtual set for the movement to take place in. Director Shankar first used a form of mo-cap and 3D holograph for the song ''Kannodu Kanbathellam'' in Jeans (1998).## A few weeks ago, the makers released the song "En iniya thanimaye' from the film, which is a one-of-its-kind 3D lyrical video. The viral song has music composed by Imaan, lyrics by Madhan Karky and has been sung by Sid Sriram. Set to be released in summer 2020, the film features real-life couple Sayyeshaa and Arya.## Meanwhile, Arya is preparing for director Pa Ranjith's next film. It is speculated that he will play the role of a boxer who hails from north Chennai. He even shared a video of his chiseled body. He posted a video of his workout on Twitter stating: "Ranjith sir, all set! My love for sports coming alive on screen All set to face the boxers in the ring with @beemji sir for our next. It's the most challenging film of my career. Loving the experience. #Ranjith sir is just phenomenal."## For more and latest news about Kollywood, stay tuned with us.
