Warner Bros. To Release 'Dune' In Maharashtra A Week After Rest of India Debut

Mumbai, October 1 - The reopening of theaters in the biggest India's movie market, Maharashtra, has given the big relief to the filmmakers. The announcement of reopening of cinemas from October 22 has led a flurry of release date announcement of nearly two dozen of Hindi films, which will release over the next 6-8 months, starting from Diwali this year.
The much-awaited cinema opening news also proved to be a blessing in disguise for some of the Hollywood films, which are now rescheduling the release dates to take the advnatage. Keeping certain things in mind, Warner Bros. has finalized the release of epic sci-fi film on October 22 in India execpt Maharasthra, where the movie will debut in theaters on October 29 in Hindi and Eglish, a week after theaters reopening in the state.
Dune is an epic science fiction film directed by Denis Villeneuve with a screenplay by Jon Spaihts, Villeneuve, and Eric Roth. It stars an ensemble cast including Jason Momoa, Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, Chang Chen, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Charlotte Rampling, among others.
Earlier, Sony Pictures also rescheduled the release of "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" after theaters reopening announcement. It will now debut in theaters on October 22 in Maharashtra and on October 14 in rest of India. The movie is the sequel to 2018 blockbuster "Venom" starring Tom Hardy.
