WWE Tag Champion Asuka Sidelined With Knee Injury, WrestleMania Status Uncertain

Asuka is currently sidelined with an injury. Reports indicate she suffered a knee injury during a brawl on Friday Night SmackDown leading up to WrestleMania 40.

Asuka's injury came during a brawl involving Damage CTRL and Bayley. While the severity of the injury remains unknown, WWE has pulled her from house shows as a precaution.



This comes after Asuka teamed with Damage CTRL's IYO SKY and Kairi Sane in a string of losing efforts against Bianca Belair, Naomi, and Zelina Vega. Asuka's last match took place on March 10th.

According to PWInsider, Asuka is currently undergoing medical tests to determine the exact nature of the knee injury. The tests will also reveal whether Asuka can compete at WrestleMania 40, which is just around the corner.

The extent of the injury is unknown. While the seriousness isn't confirmed, WWE took her off live events as a precaution and tests are being run to determine the recovery timeline.
