Chennai, April 29 - Thalapathy Vijay's Ghilli has become the highest-grossing re-release film at the Indian box office in the 21st century. The sports action drama film, which was re-released on April 20, has grossed approximately 20 crores in India in 9 days.

As reported earlier, Ghilli will also become the third highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024 at the domestic box office. It is currently at number 4, behind Lal Salaam which minted around 21 crores gross earlier this year.
At the worldwide box office, the 20-year-old film has grossed over 26 crores and will be topping the 30 crores mark in the next few days. It grossed over 40 crores worldwide in its original run in 2004 and was one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.
