WWE NXT To Move To The CW Network, Deal Believed To Be Worth 'In The Area' Of $35-$37 Million A Year
Las Vagas, 7 November - WWE is expected to announce their new television home for NXT soon. The CW Network is the most likely candidate, as they have been in deep discussions with WWE for weeks about NXT shifting from its current basic cable home on the USA Network to a traditional broadcast television home.
This move would be a big win for WWE, as it would give NXT a much wider audience. The CW Network is a major broadcast network with a large reach, especially among young viewers. This would expose NXT to a new audience of potential fans.
The deal is also expected to be a big financial windfall for WWE. According to a broadcast source, WWE NXT’s deal with The CW Network was believed to be worth "in the area" of $35-$37 million a year. Over double what’s internally believed that WWE were getting from NBC Universal for the NXT series ($15M).
The CW Network is expected to pay a significant amount of money for the rights to air NXT. This would help WWE to offset the costs of running the show, as well as generate new revenue streams.
