An American reality television star, and business owner, Kim Kardashian is officially a billionaire now with worth $1 billion, up from $780 million in October 2020. Among the record-breaking 2,755 billionaires, the 40-year-old Kardashian is at number 2674 on the list.
The cosmetics and shapewear businesswoman, who launched her career off the reality TV series "Keeping Up with The Kardashians", has appeared on the Forbes World's Billionaires List for the first time. According to the Forbes, Kardashian West's money comes from TV income, endorsement deals, and her two lifestyle brands.
Kardashian West founded KKW Beauty in 2017, following the success of her half-sister Kylie Jenner's Kylie Cosmetics. She borrowed from Kylie's playbook, using a similar direct-to-consumer model that relies heavily on social media marketing.
Her first launch, 300,000 contour kits, sold out within two hours. By 2018, the business had expanded into eyeshadows, concealers, lipsticks, and fragrances, and was bringing in about $100 million in revenue.
Meanwhile, Forbes' annual world's billionaires list is topped again by Amazon.com Inc founder Jeff Bezos for the fourth consecutive year with a net worth of $177 billion. Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk is at the second spot with $151 billion.
Bernard Arnault, chief executive of luxury goods firm LVMH, Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg are among the top five of the world's richest billionaires respectively. Meanwhile, Mukesh Ambani is India's richest person and 10th overall with a net worth of $84.5 billion.
