Los Angeles, July 24 - Barbenheimer, an Internet phenomenon to celebrate two Hollywood blockbusters in the form of "Barbie" and "Oppenheimer", has taken the worldwide box office by storm, grossing a mammoth $511 million combined in the opening weekend. "Barbie" accounted for $344 million while "Oppenheimer" brought in $180 million.
Movie lovers around the globe thronged to cinemas and choose to watch both movies which are completely different from each other. Directed by Greta Gerwig, "Barbie" is based on the iconic doll Barbie while Christopher Nolan's directorial "Oppenheimer" is a biographical drama about a theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who was pivotal in developing the first nuclear weapons as part of the Manhattan Project.
