Akshay Kumar Box Office Hit 'OMG 2' Debuts On Netflix With 2.4 Million Views

Mumbai, October 11 - Akshay Kumar's social comedy-drama OMG 2, in which he played the extended cameo role as Lord Shiva's messenger, debuted with super impressive viewership on Netflix. The movie was originally released in theatres and was a big box office success with a worldwide gross collection of over 220 crores.
Directed by Amit Rai, "OMG 2" was made available to stream on Netflix on October 8, eight weeks after the theatrical release. The movie scored 6.4 million viewing hours with 2.4 views on its opening day, which is one of the biggest opening day viewerships for an Indian movie on Netflix.
"OMG 2" was the 7th most-watched non-English movie worldwide during the week of October 2-8. It was basically just one day of viewership for the movie, otherwise, it could have easily been in the top 3 movies. The movie is trending in the top 10 in 10 countries, including Pakistan, Qatar, and Sri Lanka, among others.
Apart from "OMG 2", Vishal Bhardwaj's spy thriller "Khufiya" debuted at number 5 among the most-watched non-English films on Netflix. Starring Tabu in the lead role, the movie scored 13.2 million viewing hours with 5 million views during October 2-8 week after releasing on October 5. It is trending in the top 10 in 15 countries.
Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor's "Jaane Jaan" continued with strong viewership in its 3rd week on the streamer. The movie generated 4.4 million viewing hours in the last week, for a total of 38 million viewing hours with 18.9 million views. It is the most-watched Indian movie on Netflix in the first 17 days.
