ARTISTS PERFORMANCES:
Both Viswak and Mithila Palkar gave superb performances and their chemistry worked out for the film. Venkatesh is funny and excelled in his role. Finally, the duo Victory Venkatesh and Rahul Ramakrishna played extended Cameo roles, their performances are the highlights of the movie.
TECHNICAL ASPECTS:
The cinematography by Vidhu is beautiful with excellent visuals. The editing is okay but a few boring scenes from the first half can be chopped off. Music is the life and soul of this flick. Especially two songs "Gundellona" and "Avunanavaa" which be loved by all. BGM is peaceful and other songs are soothing.
Coming to director Ashwath, he has done a good job with the film. He directed the original Tamil film Oh My Kaduvale as well. The director succeeded in making this Telugu version a faithful remake of the original film. Had he taken extra care for the first half then things would have been better.
THUMPS UP MERITS:
Superb second half
Interval twist
Songs and BGM
Novel concept
LETDOWN DRAWBACKS:
The uneven first half especially the initial 30 mins
The movie takes forever to enter into the main plot
Also, the predictable narration is a minus point
Few routine scenes are boring
CONCLUSION:
Ori Devuda is a faithful remake of its original film. The artist's performances and the music makes it a worthy watch. The movie highly appeals to multiplex audiences and urban areas. It's a beautiful cool classy romantic comedy entertainer. If you are okay with that partially engaging first half then you will enjoy the movie which picks up before the interval and keeps you hooked till the end.
