Ginna is a movie that is promoted extensively in recent times. Vishnu Manchu is desperate to score a hit for the past 6 years. The movie has Sunny leone and Payal Rajput as heroines which created a decent buzz. Let's see how the movie is.
STORY:
Ginna, Renuka, and Swathi are best friends since childhood. Renuka is a dumb and deaf girl but their bonding will be solid. However, Renuka's father shifts the family to America and she forcefully leaves her buddies in no time. After 17 years she returns to India and meets her friends. But a twist arises when Swathi tries to marry Ginna. What is the reason behind the twist? Who is Renuka? How Ginna deals with the situation forms the rest of the story.
ARTISTS PERFORMANCES:
Vishnu is okay as Ginna. But he has gone overboard in a few scenes. Payal Rajput as Swathi did what is needed for her role. Vennela Kishore brought a few laughs in the second half.
But the show stealer is Sunny Leone. She emoted various shades in her character superbly. Her glamour and performance both will be loved by the audience.
TECHNICAL ASPECTS:
The cinematography is okay. Editing should have been better as nearly 15 mins can be chopped off. Music is the backbone of the film. Both the songs and BGM are superb. Fight sequences are over the top. Director Suriyaah has targeted the mass audience into consideration and delivered what is needed for them. He placed songs, fights, and mass elements and followed the commercial templates. But the mixing of the psychological thriller genre in a Mass film might get mixed reactions.
THUMPS UP MERITS:
Sunny Leone performance
Payal Rajput and Sunny Leone's glamour
Songs and BGM
Mass elements
LETDOWN DRAWBACKS:
Over the top scenes
Illogical connection to various subplots
Too much of cinematic liberties were taken
Boring scenes here and there
CONCLUSION:
Ginna is a Mass film that appeals to that section of the audience well. The story, screenplay, and narration have no seriousness but will go with the flow. The twists and Sunny Leone's performance will stand out in the entire film. The movie highly appeals to single-screen and B, C center audiences. If you like mass films and are okay with illogical plot narratives in a commercial template then go for it. Others may skip it for watching on OTT and can choose other releases for this weekend.
