Box Office: KGF Chapter 2 Crosses Dangal's Hindi Lifetime Collection To Become Second Biggest Movie

Mumbai, May 2 - Yash-fronted "KGF Chapter 2" is now second to only SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali 2 The Conclusion" at the Hindi box office. While "Baahubali 2's" record will remain unbeatable as of now, the Prashanth Neel-directed movie has outscored Aamir Khan's "Dangal" in Hindi to become the second biggest net scorer of all time.

Aamir Khan's biographical sports drama film, "Dangal" had scored 374.43 crores net in the Hindi language in 2016. It was also released in Tamil and Telugu as it overall scored 387.38 crores net in all three languages. "KGF 2", meanwhile, has now scored approx. 381 crores net in Hindi in just 20 days.



Rajamouli's epic action drama film "Baahubali 2" (2017) starring superstar Prabhas in the title role, is the highest-grossing movie ever in Hindi with 510.99 crores. Interestingly, the top 2 movies in Hindi are dubbed versions.

"KGF Chapter 2" is eyeing a lifetime Hindi box office run to finish around 420 crores net and will become only the second film ever to reach 400 crores net. The period action drama movie has been on a dream box run since its debut on April 14. Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment and AA Films backed the Hindi version of "KGF 2".

Produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films, "KGF 2" follows the assassin Rocky (Yash), who after establishing himself as the kingpin of the Kolar Gold Fields, must retain his supremacy over adversaries and government officials, while also coming to terms with his past. It also stars Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty, and Prakash Raj, among others in key roles.
