Box Office Update: War And Sye Raa Create Historic Day In India

2nd October has become a historic day for Indian cinema at the box office. Two of the most awaited films of the year 2019, War and Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy create havoc on the first day as both the movies collected 115.35 Cr. (War 53.35, Sye Raa 62) India net in all languages. Sye Raa collected most of from South region while War was all over India despite the fewer screening as compared to Sye Raa in South.

On 2nd October, the net collection was 130+ in India. Apart from War and Sye Raa, Hollywood film 'Joker' also had a good day in India as it collected around 7 Cr. Dream Girl, Chhichhore, and Bangali film 'Gumnaami' also had a fair amount of day as these movies collected around 3 Cr. India net. The collection got a boost by some of the other films such as Kaappaan, and Namma Veetu Pillai which earned around 2 Cr.



It is the only second time in the history of India, that movies collection crosses 100 Cr. in a single day. Earlier, In the time of Baahubali The Conclusion release, the collection was around 125 Cr. India net on a single day which was the highest at that time. Baahubali itself collected 121 Cr. on its first day.

War is an action thriller Bollywood film which stars Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, and Vaani Kapoor while the Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is a multi-starrar biographical epic action Tollywood film which stars Chiranjeevi, Amitabh Bachchan, Kiccha Sudeep, Jagapati Babu, Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Tamannaah, Niharika Konidela, and Ravi Kishan.

Both the movies got good reviews from the critics and audience and will look to continue to dominate at the box office. The collection will get a boost towards the weekends. Sye Raa and War are eying on 200+ and 170+ India net on the first weekends respectively.

5. 70 Cr. (29 November 2018) Top films - 2.0 (60.25 Cr.)
