As India is gearing up to celebrate the 72nd Republic Day, Vicky Kaushal starrer 2019's movie, URI: The Surgical Strike will be re-released in theaters on January 26 to celebrate the bravery of India's border security forces. Directed by Aditya Dhar, URI was originally released on 11 January 2019.
The plot of this movie is a dramatized account of the retaliation to the 2016 Uri attack, following Major Vihaan Singh Shergill of the Indian Army, who plays a leading role in the events. The film has been a recipient of various accolades.
The movie was produced by Ronnie Screwvala under his banner RSVP Movies. It starred Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal, Yami Gautam, Mohit Raina, and Kirti Kulhari in key roles. The film won four National Awards including Best Director, Best Actor, Best Audiography, and Best Background Score.
