Akshay Kumar Issues Statement Regarding The Release Of His Upcoming Films Bell Bottom and Sooryavanshi

Mumbai, May 22, 2021: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi waiting for the release since March last year while his Bell Bottom is also completed. Due to the second wave of covid-19, many films are reportadly looking for digital release.

The makers of Bell Bottom had earlier burst rumors regarding the film's direct-to-digital release, however, according to the latest development, Bell-Bottom has been sold to Amazon Prime Video skipping theatrical release. Sooryavanshi, though, will have a theatrical release.



On Saturday, some of the media reports claimed that both, Sooryavanshi and Bell Bottom will release on Independence Day in theaters and on Prime Video respectively. Now, Akshay has issued a statement refuting that both films will release in August and asked his fans to wait for the official announcement from the producers.

"I'm humbled at the excitement and eagerness of my fans regarding the release of Sooryavanshi and Bell Bottom and want to thank them from the bottom of my heart for all their love. However, at this point, it is purely speculative to say that both films will release on Independence Day. The producers of both films are working out the release dates and will make announcements at the right time", the actor said in a statement.

Bell Bottom, directed by Ranjit M Tewari, stars Akshay along with Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta, and Huma Qureshi. The spy thriller is produced by Jackky Bhagnani, Nikkhil Advani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Monisha Advani.

On the other hand, Sooryavanshi is the next film in Rohit Shetty's cop universe. After being delayed for more than a year, the makers recently announced April 30 for the theatrical release of the film, however, the second wave forced the makers again to postpone the release. It also stars Katrina Kaif alongside Akshay while Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, and Niharica Raizada play key roles.
