Stamford, December 14 - In the wake of the merger between WWE and UFC, giving rise to TKO Holdings, the professional wrestling landscape is undergoing significant transformations. With recent developments in TV deals and network changes, the future scheduling of WWE's flagship shows - SmackDown, RAW, and NXT - has become a hot topic of discussion among fans and industry insiders.

After facing speculation about Fox distancing itself from WWE due to reported annual losses, SmackDown is set to return to the USA Network. The five-year deal signed with the network, commencing in 2024, has left fans curious about the potential benefits for the company. The move signifies a departure from its Friday night slot, prompting questions about the impact on the show's viewership and dynamics.

In another notable shift, NXT is making a move to The CW. This change in network raises expectations for the development and exposure of WWE's developmental brand. The move to a different platform could bring new opportunities and challenges for NXT as it seeks to expand its audience reach.

Speculation surrounds Monday Night RAW as WWE has the opportunity to engage in discussions with Warner Bros. Discovery, thanks to the involvement of wrestling icon CM Punk. There are hints that RAW might find itself on a different night, introducing potential adjustments to its longstanding schedule. Dave Meltzer, on Wrestling Observer Radio, indicated that within the next two weeks, there could be significant news regarding RAW's schedule and its association with Warner Bros. Discovery.

Despite the complexities of the negotiations, the deal between WWE and Warner Bros. Discovery is far from dead. While the financial aspects pose challenges, the potential shift in schedules opens the door to various possibilities. Dave Meltzer suggests that it's unlikely for SmackDown to remain on Fridays, and RAW might experience a change as well.

WWE experienced a nearly 40% increase in fees for Friday Night SmackDown with the USA Network deal. The ongoing negotiations with Warner Bros. Discovery could further reshape the financial landscape, with estimates suggesting a substantial annual investment exceeding $350 million.
