WWE Advised To Hold Off CM Punk's In-Ring Return On Television Until Royal Rumble
Stamford, December 17 - Since his highly anticipated return to WWE at Survivor Series last month, CM Punk has proven to be a massive draw, making waves on Monday Night RAW, Friday Night SmackDown, and NXT Deadline.
Despite Punk's prominent presence, recent advice suggests that WWE should strategically delay his in-ring return on television until the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event next year.
Jim Cornette, while speaking on Jim Cornette's Drive Thru, expressed caution against squandering CM Punk's in-ring comeback on free television. He emphasized the need to preserve the allure and magnitude of Punk's return, suggesting that a significant main event quality match should be reserved for the Royal Rumble rather than being showcased on regular programming.
"I would not give a legitimate main event top restaurant quality CM Punk match on free television before the Rumble."
The Second City Saint himself has added to the anticipation by confirming his participation in the Royal Rumble match next year. Punk's involvement in WWE's Live Holiday Tour includes a match against Dominik Mysterio at Madison Square Garden on December 26th, followed by another showdown at Los Angeles' KIA Forum on December 30th.
