Mumbai, March 11 - National Award-winning filmmaker, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's latest film in his 'Files' trilogy, "The Kashmir Files", seems to be paying off big time.
The film, which tells the story of the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus in the early 1990s due to the Kashmir Insurgency, has received a moral boosting response from the audiences, which helped the film to shoot up after morning shows at the box office.
The audience score for the film is nearly perfect on multiple platforms. On IMDb, "The Kashmir Files" rating hits the perfect 10 by 3.3K people (as of 6 PM on Friday). The ticketing website, BookMyShow is also having a near-perfect score of 99 out of 100 from 8K people and Google's score is 4.9 out of 5 from 5K people at the same time.
The movie, however, has had a limited release due to Prabhas-starrer "Radhe Shyam". But, it is expected to grab more screens as the week progresses because the word of mouth is super strong at the moment which is resulting in heavy demand for tickets.
"The Kashmir Files" opened to 22% occupancy in the morning shows and it jumped significantly, especially after noon shows. The movie is all set to register a very healthy weekend at the box office.
Written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the film stars Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, Agnihotri's wife Pallavi Joshi, among others in prominent roles. It is produced by Zee Studios, Abhishek Agarwal Arts, Pallavi Joshi, and Vivek Agnihotri.
