Hayward, 15 September - The match between The Rock and Roman Reigns was scheduled for WrestleMania 39 but didn't happen for some reason. It had been anticipated as the main event for a couple of years in Los Angeles. While Dwayne has a lot more going on in his life besides wrestling, there were strong indications that WWE would be able to bring The Rock back.

Early reports suggested that The Rock wouldn't have enough time to get in the shape he felt he needed for a main event match with Roman Reigns. Despite what the reports may have said, the truth is that the match didn't take place at the event.



Recently, The Rock made a significant appearance on the Pat McAfee show and mentioned that he was supposed to return for another match this year, with rumors suggesting it would be against Roman Reigns.

“The Rock vs Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, it was locked. We were doing it. No, we were doing it. Let me just tell you. In the beginning of 2022, Nick Khan, who I’ve known for years, he’s the man, he was very instrumental in bringing me and Vince together in LA, this was the beginning of 2022, and we broke out Teremana and toasted life, and toasted the business we love. About an hour later we talked about me headlining WrestleMania with Roman Reigns at SoFi, and we shook hands and we hugged right there and we left the table and said ‘let’s do this.'”

“So, then we had a year to really think about this. The thought was ‘let’s not do something good, let’s not do something great, let’s do something unprecedented.’ The idea was ‘what can we do for the fans that has never been done before.'”
