Mumbai, May 3 - Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali continued his winning streak with the recently released "Gangubai Kathiawadi" starring Alia Bhatt in the title role. It made nearly 200 crores gross at the worldwide box office and became the first Bollywood hit of 2022.

The renowned filmmaker has been working on a couple of projects. While his "Heeramandi" series was set on Netflix, the filmmaker was also supposed to begin his long-awaited magnum opus, "Baiju Bawra". It is said to be his most ambitious musical love saga that will reportedly be headlined by Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.



It was previously reported that "Baiju Bawra" would commence filming later this year and will release in 2023. However, as per the latest reports, the movie is once again getting delayed and will now be starting in the summer of 2023. However, there is no confirmed update about the shooting timeline of the film yet.

Interestingly, "Baiju Bawra" was officially announced on the occasion of Diwali in October 2019 and was set for Diwali 2021 release. However, the covid-19 pandemic changed all the plans which are still not being fixed.
