Mumbai, March 14 - Director Luv Ranjan's romantic-comedy Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is playing in theaters and doing well at the box office. The Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-fronted movie has crossed 100 crores worldwide in the first 5 days and is looking good for an uninterrupted run for 2-3 weeks.
Produced by T-Series and Luv Films, TJMM has been on the radar of a section of people for its box office collection and budget. There are rumors circulating on social media that Ranbir has charged 50 crores for the film and the budget of the movie is 200 crores.
However, during a recent interview with NDTV, director Luv Ranjan revealed that the actor hasn't charged his remuneration yet for TJMM. In a viral video clip from the interview, Ranjan could be heard saying that the actor hasn't failed him over the last four years during the making of the film and that he hasn't taken his fees knowing the reality.
Going by Ranjan's words, it looked like he was in some sort of financial trouble and Ranbir understood that. This is not the first time Ranbir has done that. He also reportedly did not charge his fees for director Ayan Mukerji's "Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva" which later grossed over 430 crores worldwide.
