'RRR' Takes First Position As Most Watched Non-English Movie Globally On Netflix; Jersey & Gangubai Kathiawadi Remain In Top 10

Mumbai, June 1 - SS Rajamouli's global box office blockbuster RRR Hindi version has stormed the digital world, taking 1st spot as the most-watched non-English film globally during the week of May 23 - May 29 on Netflix.

The period action drama film was launched on Netflix on May 20, and it debuted in the top 10 with 7.18 million viewing hours in the first 3 days. It completed 8 weeks in theaters and grossed over 315 crores in Hindi at the domestic box office.



The movie beat all other films on the streamer to take the first position in the following week (May 23 - May 29) on Netflix and scored a huge 18.36 million viewing hours, pushing total viewing hours to 25.54 million. "RRR's" 18.36 million viewing hours is the highest ever for a post-theatrical Indian movie on Netflix in a single week.

"RRR" starring Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn along with Olivia Morris, is currently trending in the top 10 in 57 countries on Netflix. In America, it is in the top 10 in 18 countries, including the United States and Canada. The movie continued to be the number 1 movie in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Bahrain, among many others.

Shahid Kapoor's sports drama film is receiving love on Netflix as it broke into the top 5. After debuting at number 7 with 4.17 million viewing hours, the movie scored viewing hours last week, taking its total viewing hours numbers to 9.66 million. It is trending in the top 10 in 12 countries.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt's Gangubai Kathiawadi remained in the top 10 for the 5th week in a row. During its 5th week, the movie clocked 4.84 million viewing hours, helping its cumulative viewing hours to reach 48.04 million. It is still trending in the top 10 in 19 countries, including, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Indonesia, among others.
