WWE's NXT Vengeance Day, which took place on Sunday night, featured a critical match where two prominent superstars encountered potentially life-threatening botches. Updates on their well-being have now emerged following the premium live event.
The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament kicked off the night, with Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams facing off against Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin. In a pivotal moment, the top rope on one side of the ring exhibited unusual slipperiness. As Breakker attempted to break out of a headlock from Hayes, the slippery top rope led to an unexpected mishap, with Breakker's head becoming caught between the ropes.
Later in the match, Carmelo Hayes demonstrated his athleticism, narrowly avoiding a potential injury. While climbing the top rope for a dive, the slippery nature of the rope once again posed a threat, nearly giving way under his feet during the maneuver.
Corey Brennan, reporting on Fightful, provided an update on the two botches, stating that the involved superstars, Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes, emerged from the Dusty Rhodes Classic final "a little banged up."
“During the Dusty Rhodes Classic final, rope tightness was questioned after two scary spots involving Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes. It was said all involved in the match came out if it a ‘little banged up.'”
Fortunately, none of the WWE Superstars suffered any serious injuries during the incidents. Bron Breakker persevered, leading his team to a significant victory. Meanwhile, Carmelo Hayes made a surprising move towards the end of the NXT Vengeance Premium Live Event.
