Mahesh Babu Reveals Rejecting Big OTT Offers For 'Major' To Save It For Theatrical Release

Hyderabad, May 10 - Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, who has produced the upcoming Pan-India movie "Major", revealed that he turned down big offers for direct-to-ott release of the movie to save it for the theatrical release.
"Major", fronted by Adivi Sesh, is turning out to be a much-awaited movie after the launch of the trailer yesterday. Based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, an army officer who was killed in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, the movie also stars Saiee Manjrekar, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Revathi, and Murali Sharma in prominent roles.
Mahesh Babu, who believed that Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan's story must be known to the world, stated that the martyr's story is larger than life.
During the trailer launch event in Hyderabad yesterday, Mahesh Babu revealed that he received lucrative OTT offers during the Covid period, but was adamant that the movie needed to be released in theatres only because the action design and emotions were larger than life.
"Major" has been shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu while it will also be released in dubbed Malayalam version. Directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, the movie is bankrolled by Mahesh Babu's GMB Entertainment in association with Sony Pictures International Productions, and A+S Movies.
The movie will release on June 3rd in Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam.
