Madhuri Dixit's Digital Debut 'The Fame Game' Breaks Into Netflix's Global Top 10 Show

Mumbai, March 9 - Bollywood actress, Madhuri Dixit is winning appreciation for her digital debut series, "The Fame Game". The show, which revolves around a Bollywood actress named Anamika Anand who suddenly goes missing one day, was premiered on Netflix on February 25.

The mystery thriller show opened to a good start and was the 5th most show in India during its opening weekend with 3.3 million views in the first 3 days as per Ormax Media report. As announced by Netflix, the show has stormed into Netflix's Top 10 global show during the last Monday-Sunday week.



As per the Netflix chart, "The Fame Game" Season 1, attracted 11.6 million viewing hours during the last week (Feb. 28 - March 6) and was at number 6 among the top 10 non-English shows worldwide. It is currently trending in the top 10 in 16 countries.

"The Fame Game" is the number 1 show in the Asian countries - India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Africa's Mauritius.

Created by Sri Rao and directed by Bejoy Nambiar and Karishma Kohli, "The Fame Game" is produced by Karan Johar and Somen Mishra under the banner Dharmatic Entertainment. Apart from Madhuri Dixit, the series also stars Sanjay Kapoor, and Manav Kaul in the lead roles with Suhasini Mulay, Lakshvir Saran, and Muskkaan Jaferi playing supporting roles.



The premise of the series follows Anamika Anand, a Bollywood star who has a glamorous career, but dull personal life. She is physically and verbally abused by her husband, Nikhil More. She only finds solace in Manish Khanna, her frequent co-star, and past lover.

While her daughter Amara, aspires to be a great star like her mother, her son Avi has his own issues to face including his sexuality. Additionally, Anamika's mother consistently berates her and other members of the family and uses manipulative techniques to achieve her goals. Anamika's sudden disappearance puts her personal life in the limelight and thus begins the quest to find her and the person behind her disappearance, which leads to the unveiling of many dark secrets.
