Edge Triumphs In Brutal I Quit Match, Captures Second TNT Title On 3/20 AEW Dynamite
Toronto native Adam Copeland, better known to WWE fans as Edge, has secured his first championship title in AEW after defeating Christian Cage in a bloody and brutal I Quit match on this week's Dynamite.
Copeland, already a WWE Hall of Famer, had been chasing Cage and the TNT title for some time. Their rivalry intensified upon Copeland's arrival in AEW last year, culminating in this highly anticipated hometown clash.
The match between Cage and Copeland (Edge) was a brutal affair, featuring the use of foreign objects, a chaotic brawl backstage, and plenty of blood. Both wrestlers displayed incredible grit and determination as they tore into each other throughout the live show.
The intensity only grew as members of The Family (Matt Hardy, Andrade El Idolo, and Private Announcement) attempted to sway the match in Cage's favor. However, Copeland received crucial assistance from Daddy Magic and Daniel Garcia, evening the odds.
With Cage handcuffed and left vulnerable, Copeland delivered a decisive blow, forcing his opponent to utter the dreaded words – "I Quit." A new TNT Champion was crowned, and the Rated-R Superstar had etched his name on yet another championship title.
Copeland's ring attire for the match held a special significance. The gear echoed the Maple Leaf design he wore during his final WWE match in Toronto, a subtle nod to his Canadian roots and a reminder of his enduring connection to his hometown.
