Drishyam 2 Crosses Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 To Become 3rd Highest-Grossing Bollywood Movie of 2022

Mumbai, December 5 - Ajay Devgn's suspense thriller, Drishyam 2 continues its winning run at the box office and becomes the 3rd highest-grossing Bollywood movie of 2022 at the worldwide box office. It has outgrossed Kartik Aaryan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 for the 3rd spot.

Directed by Abhishek Pathak, "Drishyam 2" has been unstoppable at the domestic box office, grossing over 220 crores through 3rd Sunday (17 days). Overseas, the movie has minted approx. 45 crores so far, pushing the worldwide gross total to over 265 crores. It crossed BB2 (266 crores) at the time of writing this piece.



"Drishyam 2" is very much on track to hit 300 crores worldwide, which will be an extraordinary achievement for it. There have been only two Bollywood movies to top 300 crores worldwide post the covid-19 pandemic - Ayan Mukerji's "Brahmastra Part One: Shiva" (430 crores), and Vivek Agnihotri's "The Kashmir Files" (338 crores).

Produced by Panorama Studios, Viacom18 Studios, and T-Series, "Drishyam 2" is based on the 2021 Malayalam film of the same name, also serving as a sequel to the 2015 film Drishyam, which in turn was adapted from the eponymous 2013 Malayalam film. The plot of the film connects with its predecessor.

The film stars Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Akshaye Khanna, Shriya Saran, and Ishita Dutta along with Mrunal Jadhav, Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, and Kamlesh Sawant in key roles.
