Brie Larson's 'The Marvels' Set To Be The Joint Lowest Budgeted Movie In The MCU History
Los Angeles, September 20 - Marvel Studios' next theatrical tentpole The Marvels budged it reportedly revealed which is lower than expected.
Directed by Nia DaCosta, the "Captain Marvel" sequel cost $130 million, according to Vanity Fair. This makes it the joint lowest-budgeted Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie of all time, tied with 2015's "Ant-Man". "The Marvels" also cost $60 million less compared to its predecessor which budgeted at $190 million.
The upcoming superstar movie is the first movie in the MCU's Phase 5 to cost less than $200 million. Meanwhile, at the same time, "The Marvels" is the highest-budgeted film ever helmed by a black woman, surpassing the previous record holder "A Wrinkle in Time" ($100 million), directed by Ava DuVernay in 2018.
About "The Marvels"
Directed by Nia DaCosta and produced by Kevin Feige under Marvel Studios, "The Marvels" is the sequel to the film "Captain Marvel" (2019), a continuation of the television miniseries Ms. Marvel (2022), and the 33rd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). In the film, Danvers, Rambeau, and Kamala team up after they begin swapping places with each other every time they use their powers.
The movie stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, alongside Zawe Ashton, Park Seo-joon, and Samuel L. Jackson. It is scheduled to release on November 10, 2023. In India, it will be released in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
