Hyderabad, October 1 - On legendary Telugu comedian and freedom fighter, Padmashri Allu Ramalingaiah's birth anniversary today (October 1), his grandchildren, Allu Arjun, Bobby, and Sirish have unveiled his statue in their studio in Hyderabad.
Allu Arjun took to Twitter and shared a picture with Ramalingaiah's statue along with his brothers. "Unveiled the statue of my grandfather Padmashri #AlluRamalingaiah garu in ALLU Studios on his birth anniversary today along with #AlluBobby & @AlluSirish. He was our pride and will continue to be a part of our journey at Allu studios", he wrote.
Allu Ramalingaiah was an iconic figure in Telugu. He worked in over 1000 Tollywood films from 1950 to 2004 and won several accolades in his acclaimed career. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1990 by the Government of India. Ramalingaiah was also a homeopathic doctor and a freedom fighter and was arrested by the British colonial police during Quit India Movement.
