AEW Rampage Results March 1, 2024

Singles Match: Claudio Castagnoli vs. Rugido

The bell tolls, and the two combatants engage in a grappling exchange. They take turns applying submission holds and pinning each other, showcasing impressive displays of technical prowess. Rugido then executes a spectacular hurricanrana, followed by a daring tope suicida onto Castagnoli outside the ring. He scales the turnbuckles, attempting a crossbody, but Castagnoli counters with a swift clothesline and rains down a series of punishing stomps. With ruthless efficiency, Castagnoli throws Rugido over the top rope, sending him crashing into the ringside barricade.

After a brief commercial break, the action resumes. Rugido launches a blistering offensive, executing two consecutive hurricanranas and a powerful dropkick, sending Castagnoli reeling out of the ring. He performs a gravity-defying springboard moonsault before tossing Castagnoli back into the squared circle and attempting a quick roll-up pin, but Castagnoli displays remarkable resilience, kicking out. Rugido responds with a well-placed kick to Castagnoli's midsection. Castagnoli retaliates by launching Rugido into the corner with a forceful whip and connects with a devastating uppercut.

Rugido delivers a thunderous clothesline in the corner, followed by a powerful belly-to-belly suplex. He maintains the momentum with a headbutt and a series of targeted kicks to Castagnoli's midsection. Building on his dominance, Rugido executes a forceful powerslam and a swift arm drag. However, Castagnoli exhibits his technical mastery by utilizing the signature "Swing" maneuver and attempts a pinfall, but Rugido demonstrates remarkable stamina by kicking out. Castagnoli unleashes a flurry of brutal "Hammer and Anvil" elbows before applying the "Neutralizer" submission hold for a victory.

WINNER: Claudio Castagnoli

Castagnoli offers his hand to Rugido, who reciprocates the gesture. However, in a blatant display of treachery, Castagnoli strikes a low blow to Rugido's midsection. The dastardly act is interrupted by the swift arrival of Magnus, who brandishes a chair, forcing Castagnoli to flee into the throng of the audience.

Meanwhile, The Righteous, accompanied by the imposing Lance Archer, descends upon the ring, joining Luke Langley, Vaught, and Anaya who are already present within the squared circle.

The Righteous and Lance Archer vs. Luke Langley, Vaught and Anaya

Vincent and Vaught explode into action at the bell. Vincent connects with a forceful back elbow, followed by a kick to the face, sending Vaught sprawling to the mat. He then propels him into the corner and tags in Dutch. Dutch maintains the momentum, driving Vaught into the mat again, but Vaught finds the opportunity to tag in Langley.

Dutch overpowers Langley with a Boss Man Slam, creating an opening for Archer to tag in. Archer manhandles Vaught with a suplex, then stuns him with a clothesline before executing a devastating chokeslam on top of Langley. Anaya enters the ring and delivers a stinging slap to Archer, but The Righteous quickly overpower him with a double team attack. Archer positions Vaught on the top turnbuckle and delivers the Blackout for the victory, pinning him on top of Anaya.

WINNER: The Righteous and Lance Archer
Singles Match: Riho vs. Trish Adora

Match begins. Adora mocks Riho's stature. Adora charges at Riho with a shoulder tackle, but Riho counters with a double stomp to her back and a dropkick. Riho leaps to the top turnbuckle and dives onto Adora outside the ring before throwing her back in. Adora responds with a spinning backbreaker.

After the break, Adora maintains control with another backbreaker. Riho counters with a jawbreaker from the top rope, followed by a diving crossbody and a leg scissors takedown. Riho connects with a signature maneuver, but Adora retaliates with a kick. Riho finishes the fight with a Crucifix Bomb and running double knees for the victory.

WINNER: Riho

Shifting to the arena's backstage, Saraya and Harley Cameron force Ruby Soho to witness Zak Zodiac assaulting Angelo Parker, presumably to disrupt their upcoming date.

Meanwhile, at ringside, Magnus enters, followed by Matt Sydal.

Magnus vs. Matt Sydal in a Qualifier Match for the Eight Man All Star Scramble at AEW Revolution

Bell rings, Sydal offers handshake, Magnus kicks it away. They lock up, Sydal counters with arm drag, hurricanrana, Sunset Flip combo. He adds a reverse hurricanrana, jaw kick, then dives over the top rope with a splash onto Magnus outside. Back in the ring, Sydal hits a leg lariat and a corkscrew.

After the break, Magnus cuts off Sydal's aerial attempt with a boot, then plants him face-first. Sydal counters with another hurricanrana and a flurry of kicks. He follows with knee strikes and a roundhouse kick, finishes with an enzuigiri in the corner.

He attempts another aerial move, but Magnus trips him. Sydal climbs the ropes again, gets tripped by Magnus who joins him up top. Sydal throws Magnus down with a forearm, connects with flying double knees. Magnus retaliates, sending Sydal down with a leg drop. He climbs the turnbuckles, gets tripped by Sydal. AEW Dynamite 3/20 Maintains Audience, Rampage Reaches Highest Numbers In Over A Year

BY SACNILK

AEW's flagship show, Dynamite, remained consistent in viewership on March 20th. According to Wrestlenomics, the show drew 800,000 viewers, a slight increase from the previous week's 798,000. The key demographic rating (18-49) also held steady at 0.27. ## However, the big story comes from AEW Rampage. Airing in a special Wednesday night slot following Dynamite on TBS, Rampage saw a significant jump in viewership. Wrestlenomics reports 541,000 viewers tuned in, a major rise from the 327,000 on its usual Friday night slot on TNT. This marks Rampage's highest viewership since January of 2023. ## The demo rating for Rampage also saw a positive change. The show scored a 0.18 rating in the key demographic, up from the 0.11 it received last week. This is the highest rating Rampage has achieved since April 2022. ## The special Wednesday airing is likely a factor in Rampage's strong showing. By following Dynamite on the same night and channel, it benefited from a larger audience already tuned in. Whether this success translates to a permanent time slot shift remains to be seen, but it certainly highlights the potential of a strong lead-in. ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk...
