Mumbai, April 29 - The official account of Instagram has crossed 500 million followers on its platform. It currently has 500.41M followers which is the highest in the world on the photo-sharing social media platform.

Instagram is the only account on the platform to cross 500M followers. Portugal's star footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo has the second most number of followers on Instagram with 432.49M followers.



American model and businesswoman, Kylie Jenner is at number 3 with 331.74M followers while Argentina's star footballer, Lionel Messi, and American singer, actress, Selena Gomez are at number 4 and 5 with 321.69M and 315.01M followers, respectively.

Indian cricket legend, Virat Kohli is the most followed Asian personality on Instagram with 192.45M followers. He is currently at number 17 on the list. Virat Kohli's Instagram followers have increased over 100 million in the last two years.

Actress Priyanka Chopra is the second most followed Indian personality with 76.71M followers. She is currently in the 40th spot, followed by actress Shraddha Kapoor (48th) with 71.29M and singer Neha Kakkar (50th) with 69.54M in the top 50.
