Mohanlal, Dhanush, and Nani launch the mystery thriller trailer of Keerthy Suresh's Penguin

The wait was over after one of the most talked-about Tamil films Penguin trailer dropped on Thursday, June 11. Written and directed by Eashvar Karthic, the film stars national award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh in a lead playing the role of a pregnant woman.

Penguin is a mystery thriller film that will stream in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam languages from June 19 on Amazon Prime Video.



At the trailer launch press conference, Dhunash got the honor to launch the Tamil trailer while Mollywood superstar Mohanlal and Nani released the Malayalam and Telugu dubbed versions respectively.

Penguin is a story of a pregnant mother (played by Keerthy Suresh) who is in search of her kidnapped son Ajay in a dense forest. She is up against a masked psycho killer who tortures the kids after kidnapping them. While other characters lose hope, Keerthy's character believes that her son is still alive and she goes in search of him.



The leading lady Keerthy Suresh said in a statement, "Penguin has definitely been one of the most exciting and interesting projects I’ve worked on. As a mother, Rhythm is both gentle and caring, but also fiercely determined. She’s complex but authentic, and I think that will really strike a chord with audiences. I had a wonderful time working with the incredibly talented Eashvar Karthic to bring the story to life. It will be great to see a film in Tamil, Telugu that will be appreciated by audiences around the world."

Eshavar Karthic marks his directorial debut with Penguin while the film is jointly produced by Karthik Subbaraj's Stone Bench Creations and Passion Studios. The film also stars Adhidev and Lingaa in important roles.

Penguin is one of the two Tamil movies that has been announced to premiere on Amazon Prime Video. Ponmagal Vandhal starring Jyothika has already been released worldwide on the streaming giant on May 29.
