Mumbai, June 29, 2021: Filmmaker Karan Johar of Dharam Productions has joined hands with Still and Still Media Collective production house to announce the biopic on the former President of the Indian National Congress and member of the Viceroy's Executive Council, C Sankaran Nair. It will be directed by Karan Singh Tyagi.
The film, titled "The Untold Story of C Sankaran Nair", will be directed by Karan Singh Tyagi in his directorial debut. The film unravels the legendary courtroom battle that Sankaran Nair fought against the British Raj to uncover the truth about the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. Sankaran Nair's bravery ignited the freedom struggle across the country and is a testament to the power of fighting for the truth.
The film is inspired by real-life events and adapted from the book "The Case That Shook The Empire" written by Sankaran Nair's great-grandson, Raghu Palat, and his wife, Pushpa Palat. The lead cast of the film will be announced soon and the movie will go on floors shortly.
Apart from this, Karan Johar has a number of productions lined up including Meenakshi Sundareshwar, Madhuri Dixit-starrer series Finding Anamika, Dostana 2, Brahmastra, Sooryavanshi, and season two of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.
