Director Karan Johar, Film & TV producer Ekta Kapoor, Actor Kangana Ranaut, and Singer Adnan Sami conferred Padma Shri. The Padma awards are announced on Republic Day evening every year. The President of India Ram Nath Kovind will honour the Padma awardees at a ceremonial function which will be held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in March-April 2020.

The serval true heroes of India for bringing transformational innovation in society. It’s a moment of pride as the names nominated for the 'Highest Civilian Awards' of the country. The greatest moment for any innovator of a particular change is to be verified & recognized by his/her government. The whole awardees present their appreciation for being valued with the ‘Padma Shri’ by the Government of India.



Karan Johar was overwhelmed by getting selected for the highest civil award in the country. He took his twitter to regard his gratitude He said that It's not very often that I am at a loss for words, but this is only such occasion. The Padma Shri. Such an honor to receive one of the highest civil awards in the country. He further noted that overwhelmed by so many emotions right now, humble, elated and also thankful to the opportunity to live my dream every day, to create and entertain. I know my father would be proud and I wish he was here to share this moment with me. blessed.

Ekta Kapoor on receiving the award, "my foray into the industry started when I was 17. I constantly heard I was "too young", too raw and it was too soon to make the things happen. Through the years I have realized it never too soon to live out your dream and being young is probably the best thing. I am honored with the fourth-highest civilian award, Padma Shri, this year. The timing could not have been more perfect as this news arrives two days before my son's first birthday, grateful & thankful."
