After Simmba, the actor-director duo of Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty are coming together again for a comedy film titled Cirkus. Ranveer will enact his first-ever double role in the film which is Shetty's take on William Shakespeare's classic play The Comedy of Errors.
Cirkus will be produced and directed by Rohit Shetty while Bhushan Kumar and Reliance Entertainment have presented the film. Apart from Ranveer Singh, the movie will also star Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Varun Sharma in the key roles along with Johny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Siddhartha Jadhav, Murli Sharma, and others.
The movie will go on floors next month and will be shot in Mumbai, Ooty, and Goa. It is set to release in winter 2021.
Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh had previously collaborated on the blockbuster film Simmba which also starred Sara Ali Khan in the female lead. Apart from this, Ranveer will also be seen playing a cameo in Rohit's cop drama Sooryavanshi which is likely to release in the first quarter of 2021. It features Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh's sports drama film, 83, which chronicles the historical victory of the Indian team in the 1983 cricket world cup, has secured a release date near Christmas this year. Directed by Kabir Khan, 83 features Ranveer as Kapil Dev and his actor wife Deepika Padukone as Kapil's wife Romi Dev.
