Detroit, 6 August 2023 - Jimmy Uso made a surprising appearance at WWE SummerSlam, becoming the turning point that Roman Reigns needed to retain his title.
The main event featured a brutal 'Tribal Combat' showdown between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso, determining the true Head of the Table. With an 'anything goes' stipulation, they utilized tables, chairs, and kendo sticks to settle not only the WWE Undisputed Championship but also control of the Bloodline.
The intensity reached a new level when Jey Uso revealed a leather strap from beneath the ring and used it to lash out at Reigns. As the battle spilled into the crowd, Solo Sikoa unexpectedly appeared and took down Jey Uso with a powerful Spinning Solo through a table. Despite some confusion between Solo and Roman, Reigns capitalized and speared Solo, shifting the momentum.
Amidst the dissension between Solo and Roman, Jey saw an opportunity and speared Reigns through the barricade. However, in a surprising twist, a hooded figure revealed himself to be Jimmy Uso, who delivered a silent Super Kick to Jey Uso before leaving the ringside.
Seizing the moment, a seemingly bewildered Reigns speared Jey through a table and secured the pinfall victory. Roman Reigns remains the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and retains his title as the 'Tribal Chief' of the Anoa'i family.
During the commentary, Michael Cole likened Jimmy's actions to the biblical story of Cain and Abel, dubbing it the "ultimate betrayal" against his twin.
