Bakersfield, 30 September - The match began with Dragunov landing a running boot, while Hayes responded with a spear. Hayes attempted a Springboard move but missed, taking a Lariat from Dragunov instead. Both wrestlers traded offense, and the crowd showed support with dueling chants.

Hayes used a kick to bring Dragunov down, and he climbed the ropes, but Dragunov stopped his move. Dragunov hit a H-Bomb for a cover, but it didn't secure the win. Hayes recovered and delivered a kick for a cover, but Dragunov kicked out.



Hayes executed a cutter off the apron to the floor. Hayes went back up to the top rope and leaped, but this time Dragunov caught him mid-air with a clothesline.

Dragunov climbed to the top rope and landed a H-Bomb for the cover, securing the victory. Dragunov became the new NXT Champion.
