The Rock Was Responsible For More Than Doubling The Ticket Sales For 3/15 WWE SmackDown
The Rock's return to WWE has fans buzzing, and it's clear his star power is unmatched. This week's SmackDown in Memphis serves as a prime example, selling out entirely thanks in large part to The Rock's presence.
The Rock's return saw him donning a heel persona, aligning himself with The Bloodline and Roman Reigns. This unique blend of his classic 90s edge and "Hollywood Rock" charisma has audiences enthralled.
The Memphis show at FedEx Forum was completely packed with 12,122 tickets sold. According to wrestling insider Dave Meltzer, The Rock's appearance was the key factor, more than doubling initial sales.
Meltzer revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio, "Memphis was not tracking well at all, only 4,500 tickets sold two and a half weeks out. Even a week ago, it was up to around 7,000. Then they announced The Rock, and boom, sellout."
The Rock's impact extends beyond live events. His recent WWE video garnered significant viewership on YouTube.
However, a potential challenge emerges. While the storyline pits Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes for WrestleMania 40, some fans see a brewing rivalry between The Rock and Rhodes.
