Shayna Baszler to Compete at GCW's Bloodsport X During WrestleMania Week in WWE Policy Shift Shayna Baszler, a current star on WWE Raw, is set to make a surprise appearance at an independent wrestling event during WrestleMania 40 week. Baszler has been officially announced for Josh Barnett's Bloodsport X, taking place on April 4th.

Bloodsport is known for its unique matches held in rings without ropes, with victories achieved solely through submission or knockout. Baszler's fighting style, which heavily emphasizes submissions, makes her a perfect fit for the event.



However, the bigger story lies in WWE allowing a contracted wrestler to compete for another promotion during WrestleMania week. Traditionally, WWE has been very restrictive with talent appearances outside their own shows.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Daily Update, this decision comes from a shift in policy under Chief Content Officer Triple H (Paul Levesque). Meltzer suggests Levesque has a more open view on such appearances compared to his predecessor, Vince McMahon.

While Baszler is the only confirmed WWE talent for independent events during WrestleMania week so far, hints suggest more announcements might be coming soon. This news follows WWE's establishment of inter-promotional partnerships this year, including NXT's Charlie Dempsey touring with All Japan Pro Wrestling and TNA's Jordynne Grace appearing in the Royal Rumble.
