Peoria, 26 November - Survivor Series ended with a bang as CM Punk finally made his long-awaited return to the WWE. However, things didn't end there, as reports suggest that there was some serious backstage drama involving Seth Rollins.# While Punk's music was playing, he made his entrance on the stage, but the cameras cut off before anything else happened. However, later footage emerged showing Seth Rollins shouting at Punk from ringside while Punk was still standing on the stage. Sources say that this altercation was completely real.
But according to wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer, the entire Punk/Rollins situation was a staged "angle." This angle played off Rollins' previous statement, where he referred to Punk as a "cancer" and suggested that the company had no interest in him.
Rollins later clarified that he wouldn't have a problem with Punk returning if it was the right thing for the company. The WWE used this statement to create a 'shoot angle,' making the situation more intense and in line with the storyline.
During a live event in Peoria, IL, Seth Rollins spoke about Punk, indicating that he will be the next wrestler to face him. It seems that the situation at Survivor Series was all part of the storyline.

"Oh, baby, you know this ain't my hometown, but I grew up right down the road in the Quad Cities in Davenport, Iowa, and Peoria. You have always been like a second home to me. I mean that. Yeah, use my government name, that'll help you, pal. P. You guys have a good time tonight. Y'all got La, KN, y'all got the American Nightmare Cody, Ro, you got the Beautiful lovely the man Becky Lynch, and you got yourself what I would call a hell of a world championship main event. And I'll tell you why I appreciate that right there, guys.
"I appreciate that because we are less than 24 hours removed from one of the most brutal matches I have ever been in in my entire life, War Games. And you guys watched War Games last night. You already know how I feel about man. I said as much last night. I'm not going to waste any more breath on somebody who's been gone for eight years has done nothing but try to tear this place down. Instead, I want to take my time, waste my breath, use my breath. I'm talking about the people who've been here all along, that's everybody in the back who's made WWE the hottest ticket in town, and that's every single one of you who are here tonight in [Applause].
"Here, and I get this on a sour note like that, but I don't want you guys. Got some beautiful singing voices out there, huh? So instead of me hoting, holling, what do you guys say you take us home, huh? You guys got one more song in you before we get out of here? A you guys set the mood back there for me. It works best with the lights down low. Can we get oh, oh, oh, oh, there we go? There we go. You know, it works even better if there's some fireflies out there in the ground. Yeah, y we wowe, man, I love to see that. That's beautiful right there. I'll tell you, you guys really do make it all worth it. Now, on the count of three, I want you guys to sing this so loud they'll hear us on the streets. All right? 1, 2, 3.
"That's just what I needed. Thank you, Pia. I love you so much. Anybody to get on, SA."
