Seth Rollins Believes He May Benefit From Wrestling At Least One Match In The Weeks Leading Up To WrestleMania 40
Seth Rollins, the reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion, is nearing a return to the ring after suffering an MCL tear and partially torn meniscus six weeks ago. This news comes as a welcome relief for wrestling fans, especially considering the recent unforeseen circumstances surrounding the upcoming WrestleMania.
Rollins' original plan was to defend his championship against Bronson Reed at the February 24th Elimination Chamber event in Australia. However, his injury forced WWE to change course. While they aimed to find an alternative opponent for Reed, further complications arose.
Just before the event, Reed announced that his wife, Paige, had given birth to their daughter earlier than expected. Understandably, he chose to remain in the United States to support his family, missing the Elimination Chamber entirely.
Despite these setbacks, Rollins is now optimistic about his return. He acknowledges the importance of ring time before the biggest stage of them all: "I've been doing this for 20 years, so I kind of know what I'm doing, but I do my best work when I'm in practice," Rollins told "The West Sport." "So we'll see what happens, if I have any matches before WrestleMania or not. [It's] kind of not entirely up to me, but we'll see how it goes."
While Rollins expresses a desire for a pre-WrestleMania warm-up match, he acknowledges that the decision ultimately rests with WWE.
Regardless of any pre-WrestleMania appearances, Rollins' main focus is clear: defending his title against Drew McIntyre, who emerged victorious from the 2024 Men's Elimination Chamber.
