Ronda Rousey Talks Leaving WWE, Says She Told Triple H 'She Can't Be Associated With Mediocrity'
Former UFC champion Ronda Rousey has shed light on her departure from WWE following SummerSlam 2023. Rousey, who enjoyed a successful two-part stint in the wrestling giant, captured both the Raw and SmackDown Women's Championships and even headlined WrestleMania 35.
In a recent interview with Rick Ucchino of Cageside Seats, Rousey opened up about the frustrations that plagued her second WWE run, revealing a candid conversation with Triple H before her exit.
"There was a lot of frustration and anxiety," Rousey admitted. "I had a long talk with Triple H, and I was just honest. I told him, 'I can't be associated with mediocrity.' That's what they seemed to be happy with at the time."
While unsure if things have changed under new leadership, Rousey expressed her hope for a shift. The interview also revealed Rousey's admiration for Triple H, particularly regarding his support for female wrestlers. "He's been great for the women," Rousey said. "He's the reason I went there in the first place.
He truly believed in me. Looking back, I really wish my entire last run was under Triple H with Vince out of the picture."
