Report: Pete Dunne Doubles Down On Duties: Backstage Role And In-Ring Action
SmackDown's Pete Dunne is proving himself a valuable asset to WWE, both in and out of the ring.
Dunne, who recently shed the "Butch" persona and returned to his NXT name, has reignited his tag team partnership with Tyler Bate under the "New Catch Republic" banner. While they fell short against The Judgment Day at Elimination Chamber, their team continues to build momentum on SmackDown.
But Dunne's contributions extend beyond the squared circle. He's recently taken on a new backstage role as a producer for WWE's upcoming "Speed" show, a fast-paced program featuring short matches. Reports indicate Dunne produced this week's SmackDown tapings, overseeing matches between Dragon Lee and Ricochet, and Bronson Reed and Cedric Alexander.
"Speed" is set to premiere on the company's X account (formerly Twitter) this Wednesday, April 3rd.
Despite his added responsibilities, Dunne hasn't forgotten about in-ring competition. He and Bate are slated to participate in the high-octane Six-Pack Ladder Match for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 40.
