Los Angeles, June 11 - This time, the Dinosaurs are falling flat and getting hit right, left, and center by critics though the audience is saying otherwise. Chris Pratt's "Jurassic World Dominion", which hit North American theaters on June 10, is rejected by critics.
The sequel to "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" (2018), "Jurassic World Dominion" has become the lowest-rated film in the entire Jurassic World franchise on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie has 32% critics score on the site from 273 reviews, however, the audience's score is on the positive side with 81 percent from 2500+ Verified Ratings.
"Jurassic World Dominion" Rotten Tomatoes rating is the lowest in the 6-films franchise, followed by "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom", which has a 47% critics score. However, how the critics' scores will affect the movie is yet to see as the box office history of the franchise has completely been different. The last movie in the franchise, "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom", despite a below-average rating, grossed $1.3 billion worldwide.
Directed by Colin Trevorrow, "Jurassic World Dominion" has also taken a huge start at the domestic (North America) box office with an estimated $55 million on Friday, including an excellent $18 million Thursday previews. The opening weekend is projected to score $130+ million, which will make it the third biggest in the franchise.
It is the final film in the Jurassic World trilogy, and the conclusion to the storyline started in the original Jurassic Park trilogy. The film is set four years after the events of Fallen Kingdom, with dinosaurs now living alongside humans around the world.
The film stars an ensemble cast including Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill, BD Wong, Omar Sy, Isabella Sermon, Justice Smith, and Daniella Pineda reprising their roles from previous films in the franchise, and they are joined by DeWanda Wise, Mamoudou Athie, Campbell Scott, Scott Haze, and Dichen Lachman.
