Ahemadabad, October 10 - India's official entry for the 95th Academy Awards, Last Film Show ("Chhello Show") is scheduled to release on October 14th in theaters across the country.
Produced by Roy Kapur Films in association with Monsoon Films, and Jugaad Motion Pictures, the movie will have its Thursday preview as the celebration of its Oscars 2023 pick by the Indian jury. The makers have announced that the movie will be released in 95 cinemas on Thursday night, and for that, the ticket price has been kept at Rs. 95.
While the Gujarati-language coming-of-age drama was set to release theatrically across India on Friday (October 14), audiences can now catch it in advance on Thursday night itself at a low price.
Sharing the news, director Pan Nalin said, "There has been immense excitement among fans for our film 'Last Film Show' ('Chhello Show') and we are all too happy to release it on the 'Last Show' of Thursday. Also, what better way to celebrate its selection at the 95th Oscars than by releasing it in 95 cinemas at a wonderful price of Rs. 95!"
Producers Siddharth Roy Kapur of Roy Kapur Films and Dheer Momaya of Jugaad Motion Pictures jointly said, "We are thrilled that our film 'Last Film Show' ('Chhello Show') is finally reaching its appropriate destination-the cinematic big screen. With our exhibitors on board, we are releasing the film in the final shows on Thursday across 95 cinemas at a Rs 95 ticket price.
"This is our humble way of honouring the love and excitement audiences across India have shown for our film." The makers have clarified that the price of Rs 95 per ticket will be only for the shows on Thursday", they said.
The plot of the movie reads, "Nine-year-old Samay (Bhavin Rabari) from Chalala, a village in Saurashtra, Gujarat, India spends an entire summer watching films, from the projection booth of a rundown movie place, by bribing the projectionist - Fazal (Bhavesh Shrimali). He is absolutely mesmerized by films and filmmaking, to the point that he decides to become a filmmaker, unaware of the heartbreaking times that await him".
It stars Bhavin Rabari, Bhavesh Shrimali, Richa Meena, Dipen Raval, and Paresh Mehta.
